Am I doing this?

I’m embarking on this journey and thrilled to welcome you to my blog! I’ve been immersing myself in the world of FIRE (Financial Independence Retire Early), and I invite you to join me on this exciting quest. Together, let’s explore and learn from each other’s experiences.

As depicted in my logo and page title, my ultimate goal is to achieve FatFI in retirement. If you’re wondering what that entails, let me provide a brief overview.

FI, or Financial Independence, encompasses various frameworks. Notably:

  1. LeanFI: Aiming for an annual spending range of $30,000 to $40,000, LeanFI is designed to require less for an early retirement.
  2. FatFI: Contrasting with LeanFI, FatFI involves targeting an annual spending level higher than LeanFI, requiring a bit more for an early retirement.

There’s a third framework, which I’ll delve into as I continue blogging about the early stages of this journey.

As we embark on this journey together, I commit to posting twice a week on the blog. My goal is to not only share insights into my investment strategy but also to point you toward valuable resources like blogs, podcasts, books, and more that have greatly assisted me.

A bit about my background: I come from a lower-middle-class family where money was a topic seldom discussed, deemed inappropriate for conversation. Unfortunately, discussions about finances were limited for me, especially as a woman, in contrast to my brother, who had the privilege of engaging in these conversations with our parents.

Ensuring that this blog is both accessible and understandable is paramount to me. I strive to present information in a manner that is easily digestible, particularly for those new to FI, much like myself!
